Brian L. Blakeley devotes the majority of his practice to civil litigation matters. He has represented clients in state and federal courts throughout the state of Texas for over thirty years. He has experience prosecuting and defending a wide variety of cases including those involving oil and gas matters; anti-compete agreements; indemnity claims; insurance claims; insurance bad faith; deceptive trade practices; and personal injury.

Over the years, Brian has acted as lead counsel in hundreds of cases in Texas State and Federal courts. He also has handled appeals in the Texas Courts of Appeal, the Texas Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Representative Published Decisions.

Brian received his undergraduate degree and a Masters of Arts from the University of Texas before attending the SMU School of Law in Dallas. Brian graduated from SMU in 1984 where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

After graduating from law school, Brian began practicing with the San Antonio law firm of Groce Locke and Hebdon which, at the time, was the premier trial law firm in South Texas. Later, he became a founding shareholder in Ball and Weed. Brian opened his own law practice in 1994.

Brian served as a member and officer of the governing council of the Insurance Law Section of the State Bar of Texas from 2007 to 2017. He is a Life Fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation and is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale.
